Where to stay in Vancouver

Davie Village, in the West End along Davie Street between Burrard and Jervis, is the gayborhood, and English Bay's beach is a short walk away. Vancouver Pride's parade is in early August (2026's was Sunday, August 2), and Whistler Pride & Ski Festival is up the coast in January.

Good to know

Same-sex couples can marry anywhere in Canada under the Civil Marriage Act of July 2005. From the airport (YVR), the Canada Line SkyTrain runs straight downtown to Waterfront Station, so you don't need a car or a cab to get into the city.
