Where to stay in Sitges
A small, walkable seaside town 40 minutes by train from Barcelona. The gay bars cluster in the old town, and gay-popular beaches run along the promenade. It's lively from May to October, busiest at Pride in June, and has a famous Carnival in February.
Hotel Medium Romàntic
Carrer de Sant Isidre, town center
Two 19th-century villas full of artwork, around a garden where you can eat the buffet breakfast under the palms. Rooms are simple and some are dated, but the price, location and garden make it a good budget pick in the center.

Passeig Marítim (seafront promenade)
A long-standing seafront hotel with 170 rooms, many with sea views, steps from the beach and a short stroll from the old town. It's a dependable, central base, though the pool is small and breakfast costs extra.

Passeig Marítim, Terramar end
A design-led seafront hotel with a pool looking over the Mediterranean and a spa. It sits at the quieter western end of the promenade, so the bars are a longer beach walk or a short taxi away. Good for couples who want a resort feel.
