City guide

Salt Lake City

A few friendly bars downtown and on Harvey Milk Boulevard, a community center on Main Street, and Pride the first weekend of June.

Gay Salt Lake doesn't have one strip. Downtown has the SunTrapp, the city's oldest gay bar, out west on 600 West, and Why Kiki's drag on 100 South. South of downtown, Harvey Milk Boulevard (900 South) has Club Try-Angles and Milk+. The Utah Pride Center is on Main Street and runs Pride, which fills Washington Square the first weekend of June. TRAX runs from the airport to downtown, and the downtown stretch is free to ride.

This week in Salt Lake

A quiet week in Salt Lake City

None of the groups we list meet in Salt Lake City in the next seven days, and nothing's on the events calendar. See groups in other cities, the bars, or ask in Everywhere Else what people are up to.

The whole week, day by day, including the quiet days.

Dates are in Salt Lake City time. Times are as each group lists them, monthly groups show only on the day they meet, and seasonal leagues play only in season, so check the group's site before you go. Nobody pays to be listed.

Pride & big events

Utah Pride is the first weekend of June (2027 dates TBA). In 2026 the festival was June 6–7 at Washington Square, and the parade on Sunday, June 7, went from West Temple along 100 South to 300 South and 400 East, with almost 150 entries.

First time going? Your first Pride covers going solo, what to bring, heat and crowds.

  • Rides on TRAX and buses that start and end inside downtown's Free Fare Zone are free.
  • Utah bars stop serving at 1am, so plan the last round before then.
  • Milk+ is closed Monday to Wednesday and the SunTrapp is closed on Mondays, so a weekend is the best time to go out.
  • Harvey Milk Boulevard is 900 South. Club Try-Angles is half a block from TRAX.
