Where to stay in Ogunquit
A small Maine beach town that Instinct Magazine calls one of America's premier LGBTQ+ beach towns, with a walkable village and a wide beach. The Marginal Way, a paved footpath along the shore, runs a mile and a quarter from near the harbor to Ogunquit Beach. Ogunquit Pride is in June, and Bear Week fills the town in late August (2026's ran August 26–30).
Same-sex couples have been able to marry in Maine since December 29, 2012, after voters approved it that November. The Ogunquit Trolley ran daily from 9 am to 9 pm between July 1 and October 15 in 2026 ($5 a ride) and doesn't run in bad weather, so outside those months plan to walk or drive.
