Where to stay in New Hope
An arty Delaware River town in Bucks County, about an hour's drive from Philadelphia, that the county's tourism office calls its gay-friendly centerpiece. Karla's has been an LGBTQ+ favorite since the '70s, and the same page points you to John & Peter's Place and The Cub Room. Pride week is in May, with a parade that starts in Lambertville, NJ, and crosses the bridge into town.
Same-sex couples have been able to marry in Pennsylvania since a federal court struck down the state's ban on May 20, 2014. Visit Philadelphia says driving is a must from the city (about an hour) and warns that metered street parking and the lots fill up fast on summer weekends, so arrive early.
