A bar is great for a night out, but it's hard to get past small talk over loud music. A run club, a chorus or a game night gives you something to do together and the same faces every week, so by the third visit people know your name. Here are 155 LGBTQ+ clubs, leagues and regular nights in 21 cities, each with the month we last checked it was still running.
Steele Indian School Park and Margaret T. Hance Park volleyball courts
Phoenix's gay volleyball league plays outdoor league nights on two park courts, in Midtown and downtown. Leagues run in seasons, so check the site for the next sign-up; they're also looking for volunteers to help set up the courts.
Rehearsals Tuesdays 7–9pm; auditions on Tuesdays in July and August
Parsons Center for Health & Wellness, 1101 N Central Ave (downtown)
A chorus in its 36th season, with a holiday concert and a season finale each year. New singers join through a 10-minute audition in July or August: a range check, some pitch matching and clapping rhythms, and the national anthem. Or just go to a concert.
Free country line dance lessons twice a week at Phoenix's longtime gay country bar, open to every level. Learn the steps early, meet the regulars, and stay once the floor fills up.
Weekly bingo hosted by Barbra Seville, with DJ Trent between rounds and local prizes. A relaxed midweek night: bring friends, or come alone and join a table.
Sunday games during the season; the fall 2026 season began Sep 27
Phoenix-area fields
Slow-pitch softball for the LGBTQIA+ community around Phoenix, with two seasons a year and divisions for different skill levels. New players come in through skills days, and there are socials after games.
Fall season on Friday evenings, games 6:45–10pm; the park can change
Phoenix-area park (check the league for this season's field)
Recreational flag football for Arizona's LGBTQ+ community, open to every skill level. Sign up on your own: registered players go into a draft pool and captains pick teams before the season.
Tempe Public Library, Desert Willow Program Room, 3500 S Rural Rd (Tempe)
An LGBTQIA+ book club run by the Tempe library. You can borrow the month's book with a Tempe library card, and you're welcome even if you didn't finish it.
Schedules are as each group gives them: monthly groups meet once a month, twice-a-month ones in the weeks they name, and seasonal leagues only in season. Times change, so check the group's own site before you go. Something wrong, or a group we're missing? Post in Friends & Community. Nobody pays to be listed.
