City guide

Nashville

Drag on Church Street five nights a week, karaoke in East Nashville, and Pride on Broadway in June.

Nashville doesn't have one gayborhood. It has a few pockets, and you'll want a car or a rideshare between them. On Church Street in Midtown, west of downtown, Play and Tribe sit next door to each other with Suzy Wong's drag brunch behind them. Across the river in East Nashville, The Lipstick Lounge and Canvas are a few blocks apart near Five Points. Frankie J's is in Germantown, Trax is in Wedgewood-Houston, and Pecker's is on Hermitage Ave just south of downtown.

This week in Nashville

Today Thu, Oct 22

Sunday Oct 25

The whole week, day by day, including the quiet days.

Dates are in Nashville time. Times are as each group lists them, monthly groups show only on the day they meet, and seasonal leagues play only in season, so check the group's site before you go. Nobody pays to be listed.

Pride & big events

Nashville Pride is in late June (2027 dates TBA). In 2026 it was one day, Saturday, June 27: the parade ran down Broadway downtown at 10am, and the festival filled Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park from 11am to 8pm, with a pageant, a pool party and other events in the weeks around it.

First time going? Your first Pride covers going solo, what to bring, heat and crowds.

Moving tips

  • From the airport, WeGo's Route 18 leaves from the Ground Transportation Center (Level 1 of the Terminal 2 garage) for WeGo Central downtown. It's $2, about 20 minutes on an express trip and 35–45 on a local one. Tap a contactless card or phone (no Amex); it stops charging at $4 for the day.
  • Play and Tribe are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Frankie J's is closed on Mondays. Early in the week, East Nashville and Trax are your best bets.
  • The bars are spread out: Church Street, East Nashville, Germantown and Wedgewood-Houston are each a short rideshare apart, but too far to walk between.
  • Like to two-step? Canvas has karaoke and line dancing on Thursday and Sunday nights, with no cover.
  • Suzy Wong's weekend drag brunches sell out, so book before you fly in.
