City guide
Columbus
Bars on High Street in the Short North, a lesbian bar with great pizza, and one of the Midwest's big Prides in June.
Gay Columbus runs along High Street. The Short North, the strip of galleries, restaurants and bars between downtown and Ohio State, has Union Cafe and Axis across the street from each other, and Stonewall Columbus's community center a few blocks north. Downtown has Slammers and AWOL, and Club Diversity is south of downtown in the Brewery District. In June, Pride fills Goodale Park and the march comes up High Street.

Moving tips
- The Short North bars are a walk apart: Union Cafe and Axis are across the street from each other. Slammers and AWOL downtown and Club Diversity in the Brewery District are a short ride south.
- COTA buses cost $2 for two hours of rides. Pay in the Transit app or with a COTA Smartcard and it stops charging at $4.50 for the day. There are ticket machines at the airport's arrivals level.
- On days when the National Weather Service puts out a heat or cold advisory, COTA's buses are free for the rest of the day.
- Several bars stay open until 2:30am on weekends (AWOL every night), so there's no rush at midnight.
- Coming for Pride? High Street closes for the march and the streets around Goodale Park close for the festival, so plan to walk.
