Where to stay in San Francisco

The Castro is the classic base, with bars, the Castro Theatre and Harvey Milk Plaza within a few blocks, and SoMa is the place for leather bars and Folsom. Pride in late June and the Folsom Street Fair in late September are the peak (and priciest) weekends, and September and October usually bring the warmest weather.
