What it is
In 1991, about 3,000 LGBTQ+ people wore red shirts to Walt Disney World on the same day so they'd be seen. It's now a multi-day festival with 40+ events and tens of thousands of visitors. It anchors on the first Saturday of June, when the crowd wears red to Magic Kingdom.
Gay Days Orlando 2027
- Dates: June 3–7, 2027.
- Red Shirt Day: Saturday, June 5 at Magic Kingdom. Check gaydays.com for which park the group visits each day.
- Host hotel: Holiday Inn & Suites Orlando SW – Celebration Area, per the 2027 room page. The base rate is $199 before taxes and a $25 resort fee; rates go up on December 1 and March 1, and you can pay monthly.
- Events: daily pool parties (running until 4 am for the first time), the Red Room, newbie happy hours, Miss GayDays and Mr. GayDays Leather, drag bingo, drag brunch, the Big Gay Game Show, and late-night parties.
Heads up: organizers announced a cancellation on Feb 9, 2026, then reversed it two weeks later and moved to a new resort. Follow their socials for updates.
Park tips
- Lightning Lane passes are bought in the My Disney Experience app. Disney resort guests can book 7 days ahead; everyone else 3 days ahead.
- June in Orlando means heat and afternoon storms. Arrive early, take shade breaks and drink water.
- Wear red on Saturday. The photo on Main Street is the whole point.
- Expect crowds. Rope drop and late evenings are your friends.
On the West Coast
- Gay Days Anaheim (since 1998) meets at Disneyland in September; 2026 was Sept 18–20.
- Disneyland Pride Nite is Disney's own ticketed after-hours event (part of Disneyland After Dark). It ran June 16 and 18 in 2026; 2027 dates aren't announced yet.
