Daily pills or long-acting shots that are very effective at preventing HIV. Every city guide lists where to get it, including free and low-cost clinics.
One dose of doxycycline within 72 hours after sex lowers the chance of syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea. US guidance recommends it for gay and bi men who've had one of those in the past year. Ask your clinic.
Think you were exposed to HIV? Start PEP within 72 hours, and sooner is better. Go to an urgent care, ER or sexual health clinic and ask for it by name.
If you're active, every three months is the usual rhythm. Many clinics do walk-in or at-home kits.
Never mix it with alcohol, and space doses out: the difference between enough and too much is tiny. If someone can't be woken, put them on their side and call emergency services (911 in the US, 112 in Europe). Stay with them.
Ask. A no, a pulled-back hand or no response means no. Someone who's very drunk or high can't consent. Staff are there to help if anyone makes you uncomfortable.
Bring ID, leave valuables at home, use the lockers, drink water, and tell a friend where you're going. Laws and enforcement differ between countries, so read up before you travel.
